Overnight, the world drastically changed with the reelection of Donald Trump. The new administration is working frenetically to implement draconian Project 2025 policies, which brazenly attack human rights and seek to marginalize the LGBTQ community.
Truth Wins Out is prepared to meet the overwhelming challenges we are now facing. However, we need your help to be maximally effective and fully succeed at our critically important work. The 114 organizations affiliated with Project 2025 have a combined budget of $1.2 billion. If right-wing universities, that are part of Project 2025, are included, the annual budget total reaches approximately $3.3 billion.
All Truth Wins Out is asking is that you provide the financial fuel so we can vociferously fight for equality on your behalf. We must be more committed to moving forward than our foes are in turning back the clock.
On Friday, the organization is holding a key board meeting to discuss our strategy for moving forward in the tumultuous Trump Era. Our mission is to stand up and speak out against injustice and inspire our supporters to act as beacons of light in a time of darkness. To rise to the occasion, we have broadened our mission statement to reflect the growing number of issues our community now faces:
Truth Wins Out is a nonprofit organization that works to advance liberty and democracy, protect the rights of LGBTQ people and other minorities, combat religious extremism and fight against the spread of disinformation. We strive to build an enlightened and free world through education, advocacy, and public policy work.
Why did we alter our mission?
In nations without democracy there is little advancement on LGBTQ equality and human rights are often trampled. We must battle religious extremism, because that is frequently what energizes the underlying discrimination. Finally, our movement has achieved success due to unapologetically speaking the truth. The current flood of disinformation is a direct and existential threat to our ongoing progress.
Truth Wins Out has instituted effective programs that provide a critical advocacy architecture:
Media War Room: Each morning, we explore current events and rapidly respond when necessary. Truth Wins Out stands up to lies, sets the record straight and advocates to the media on your behalf.
Monitoring Conversion Therapy: Truth Wins Out is a world leader in battling “ex-gay” conversion programs. To ensure these nefarious organizations don’t rebrand and stage a comeback, we monitor their websites, read their materials and debunk their misinformation.
Research Project 2025: Tragically, we now live in a Project 2025 world. An analysis by TIME found that nearly two-thirds of the executive actions Trump has issued so far mirror or partially mirror proposals from the 900-page document. Truth Wins Out is in the forefront of studying the extremist organizations behind Project 2025. To beat this committed foe, we need accurate information and Truth Wins Out is providing it.
TWOCARE: The day Trump was elected, Truth Wins Out relaunched its influential Center Against Religious Extremism (TWOCARE.org). This endeavor is to conduct deep research on hardcore right-wing organizations. We aim to expose their toxic plans, spotlight their radical leaders and arm our community with the information it needs to fight back and win.
Truth Wins Out is a venerable organization with a tangible record of success. However, what we are able to accomplish depends directly on your generosity. As previously noted, our opponents have billions of dollars to harm our families and negatively impact our lives. What we ask is that you provide basic financial tools so we can be effective and successful.
