We are a Sick Country Led by Primitive Minds and Wicked Ideologues
This week solidified America’s precipitous slide into a shameful nation of sickness, sleaze, and metastasizing evil. Tragically, President Trump has transformed the United States into an agent of global chaos and criminality, with the government empowered to protect us paradoxically becoming our top national security threat. Conservative columnist George Will nailed it when he described the Trump administration as a “moral slum”.
Sickeningly, the Trump administration adopted white supremacy today as official state policy. The new paradigm came in the form of a 33-page national security document scolding Europe, saying its immigration policies would lead to “civilizational erasure.” Trump pledged the United States would assist right wing parties in Europe to victory, including those tied to white supremacy and outright Nazism.
In a section called “Promoting European Greatness,” the screed arrogantly warns that Europe is becoming “unrecognizable” and the United States should help Europe “correct its current trajectory” over the course of the next several decades.
“We want Europe to remain European, to regain its civilizational self-confidence”, the condescending report lectured.
This offensive meddling in the affairs of our (former) allies comes at the same moment Trump is selling out Ukraine to Mother Russia with its pro-Putin “peace” plan. Today’s obnoxious document, the New York Times reported:
…appears to echo Mr. Putin’s language by insisting that the United States should be “ending the perception, and preventing the reality, of NATO as a perpetually expanding alliance.”
We don’t yet know the precise reasons for Trump’s perfidy—whether ideological alignment, compromised financial dealings or an embarrassing piss tape—but for all intents and purposes our President is a weak Russian puppet. He is on the cusp of singlehandedly wrecking the Transatlantic Alliance and sabotaging NATO, which is allowing a revanchist Russia to directly menace Western Europe.
Italy’s Senator Carlo Calenda is correct to label Trump an “enemy of Europe” and “an enemy of democracy.” He is also wise to point out that the dignity-destroying flattery festival by European leaders to influence Trump has miserably failed.
“He’s a bully, and you cannot face a bully by being warm and kind,” Calenda added. “It’s not the way in which you can manage him.”
No doubt, right wing fanatics across Europe are celebrating Trump’s championing of their obscene cause. It wasn’t long ago that the Great Replacement was a conspiracy theory only spewed by bigots in the moldiest corners of the Internet. The despicable lie essentially holds that manipulative Jews and liberals were deliberately plotting to import hordes of swarthy people from backward countries to vote for progressive parties, so they could claim power and erase wholesome white “patriots”.
In a stunning rebuke of reality, the absurd conspiracy theory is official U.S. policy. It is also habitually promoted by Elon Musk on X and disseminated by an army of right-wing media trolls and influencers.
Given the rise of this fever swamp of hate, it should surprise no one that the leading voices in Republican media are white nationalist, antisemites like Tucker Carlson and Nazi podcaster Nick Fuentes.
If you think the Republican Party’s growing Nazi problem is a fringe issue that won’t affect you, it’s time to leave your bubble. Conservative writer Rod Dreher wrote in the Free Press:
Nick Fuentes has taken off among Gen Z congressional and administration staffers. One older insider put the number of Fuentes fans and fellow travelers, so-called Groypers, in these Washington circles at “30 to 40 percent.”
The Atlantic reports that Fuentes began to develop his platform by saying Jim Crow segregation was “better for us” and that “multiculturalism is a cancer”. He claims that America has a problem with “organized Jewry…It’s like a transnational gang.” Fuentes is so extreme that he rejects JD Vance as a presidential candidate because his wife is Indian.
“You can’t make me go and vote for some fat ass with some mixed-race family,” Fuentes said on a livestream. He then showed his audience a photo of Vance with his family in front of the Taj Mahal. “How would he possibly ever say that there is an ethnic basis for American identity? There’s not even an ethnic basis for his family.”
Of course, Vance is the same human weathervane who once compared Trump to Hitler, only to surrender his principles by becoming Trump’s Vice President. Given his history, selling out his wife, like he did his country, is entirely within the realm of possibility. Indeed, Vance recently threw his wife under the bus by shamelessly expressing his wish that she convert from Hinduism to Christianity.
Vance certainly is Trump’s “Number 2”.
The President’s Euro plan to help right wing parties whiten the continent followed his vile efforts to reverse the browning of America. Last week, he called Somali immigrants “garbage”, adding, “I don’t want them in our country, I’ll be honest with you… their country is no good for a reason.”
The administration’s toxic rhetoric has led to our country losing its moral bearings and engaging in performative cruelty. Following the shooting of two National Guardsmen in Washington, DC—which was caused by Trump’s negligence—citizenship and asylum applications from 19 countries were immediately halted.
This edict included stopping citizenship graduation ceremonies—gratuitously stomping on the dreams of people—mostly of color– who had embraced this country, done the arduous work of applying, waited years for approval, and had already been vetted. Sorry to be crass—but that’s just a dick move by Trump officials who get off on hurting innocent people.
Meanwhile, as stereotyping becomes the norm, the odious Trump regime is fast-tracking white South Africans for citizenship, under the false pretense that they are victims of state persecution. Is the double standard and official acts of discrimination not painfully obvious?
Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis enthusiastically jumped on the bandwagon. He retweeted a post by a person appropriately named “Wingnut”, who wrote, “Why are H-1B’s allowed to bring dependents with them? If they miss their families, they can go home.”
It’s ironic that DeSantis boasts on his X profile that he is a “husband” and “father”, while deliberately forcing good people to choose between having a job and parenting their children. Talk about a nasty individual and fake Christian who uses family as a cheap political prop.
If that weren’t enough, Colombian-born Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) plans to introduce a bill to end dual citizenship, which would force American citizens to pledge “exclusive allegiance” to the United States.
If America is so “great” under Trump, why does Moreno feel the need to pass an intrusive Big Government law to restrict our movements? Is Trump’s wall to keep people out or lock Americans in?
This senator’s preening, jingoistic bill brings back awful memories of the Soviet Union, where citizens were not free to travel as they pleased. Moreno may have passed his citizenship test, but he shouldn’t have, because he clearly doesn’t understand America.
The Trump administration’s indifference to decency is as contagious as the diseases the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention won’t be controlling or preventing. Today, Health and Human Services Director and probable serial killer, RF Quack Jr., ended the decades-long recommendation that all newborns in the U.S. be immunized at birth against hepatitis B. This disease is a highly infectious virus that can cause chronic liver disease.
“Today is a defining moment for our country,” Michael Osterholm, a public health expert at the University of Minnesota, said. “We can no longer trust federal health authorities when it comes to vaccines.”
When even the life of babies has become politicized, and considered secondary to advancing radical ideology, there is nothing this perverse administration isn’t capable of.
Such moral depravity is evident in Trump’s run-up to war in Venezuela. The president sold the conflict under false pretenses, claiming it was about stopping Narcos. Then Trump bizarrely turns around and pardons Juan Orlando Hernandez, the former Honduran president, who was sentenced to 45 years in prison for flooding our nation with cocaine.
Despite the stinking hypocrisy, our military is blowing up fishing boats accused of moving drugs—while the administration refuses to provide hard evidence of wrongdoing. This policy led to incompetent Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth allegedly ordering helpless survivors of one boat strike to be summarily executed—which is a war crime.
Americans are trying to get answers on the illegal boat strikes, but the “macho” Hegseth apparently can’t handle media questions. So, he eliminated real reporters, with decades of experience, from the press corps, only to replace them with pliant toadies, loyalists and apparatchiks who toss him softballs. (At least when Hegseth isn’t busy putting our troops’ lives at risk by carelessly sharing classified war plans on Signal.)
A silver lining to this madness is that Trump’s polling numbers keep plummeting. It might not matter, however. Our compromised Supreme Court today said Texas could go forward with its extreme gerrymander, allowing unpopular Republicans to rig the elections and cheat their way to “victory”.
To illustrate how far our democracy has crumbled, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton didn’t even try to hide his nefarious intentions. He said the Supreme Court’s order “defended Texas’s fundamental right to draw a map that ensures we are represented by Republicans.” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a statement saying: “We won! Texas is officially — and legally — more red.”
What the Fuck?
I was under the impression that it was the voters who decided what Party was in power. When did it become the job of politicians to defy the will of the people to ensure the state is “represented by Republicans” or to make the state “more red”?
Thanks to the Supreme Court’s bold-faced politicization of the judiciary, the Democratic Party’s blue wave might need to be a tidal wave to achieve victory. Even if that occurs, does anyone believe that Trump and his undemocratic MAGA Monkey’s would accept defeat?
The president and his putrid party are dismantling this country brick-by-brick. Their wickedness has no contemporary and their lust for plunder has no peer. In less than a year, the United States has unquestionably degenerated into a backward, white supremacist nation that fears vaccines and celebrates dictators.
It meekly bows at the feet of Putin while humiliating Ukraine’s heroic President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. America destructively orders its military to commit war crimes—then refuses to release tapes that would implicate or exonerate it for murder. Our Trumpian Republic is a fetid, corrupt, pay-to-play casino devoid of principles, where all policy outcomes are on the auction block.
How will this unprecedented national disaster end?
Trump has created a massive, terrifying Super Cell of Stupidity. The storm is likely to spawn an F-5 tornado that will wreak havoc and leave a trail of immense death and devastation—like every business venture he has undertaken. Except this time, he will morally, ethically, culturally, militarily, and financially bankrupt the entire world.
There is also the possibility we will get lucky, or the resistance will succeed. Sometimes, powerful twisters miraculously dissipate before they touch ground.
All I know is that we have only endured Year 1. This calamity must be slowed down or stopped. If not, it is doubtful civilization will survive three more years of Trump-inspired wreckage.
